Week 1: McMillan

Hello, I'm Siobhan McMillan, and I guess now that the kids are a bit older I actually have the time to tell you a bit about our family. I think you already know about the disappearance of my son and daughter-in-law, leaving me to care for their triplets. This is the last photo I have of them, getting ready to leave on their trip. I'm doubting that they'll ever come back now. *wipes away tear*

This was the time when I regretted not spending more time on my career when I was younger, because I never did save up a lot of money for when I was old. Of course, it would have been enough for just me, and I've always found a man willing to pay the bills when it came to that. As things were, I was only able to buy a tiny cottage for me and the babies. I slept in the living room, but it was more important that the little ones each get their own chamber so that they wouldn't wake me or each other up. The good thing was that I still had enough money left after building this to survive without taking a job until they started going to school. Hopefully.

What I needed more than anything else though, was a new lover. I was separated from all my old acquaintances now, after all. Thankfully, I'd met this nice man over at the Stevensons' that I could call over for a date. Sure, he was married now and there wasn't a huge ammount of attraction, but it wasn't as if I was going to take him away from his family and he'd do for the start. We had a very pleasant date, so I was in a better mood to take on the toddlers than I had been before.

There were two more men in the welcome waggon, but neither of them were the least bit attractive, so I didn't spend much time with them. I can go on the hunt for more lovers when the toddlers reach school age.

The time that followed was extremely strenuous. One of the toddlers always needed me for something or other, and I was glad for the energizer. I don't think I would have survived without it. Heck, I don't think I ever used that bed once before they grew to children. They were relatively well behaved though. When I wasn't training them they spent the day playing with their toys.

And sometimes, when they were all sleeping, I could even get a moment to myself. Or rather, to myself and Andrew. He was extremely helpful during those days. He even brought me expensive presents. I never knew that he had that kind of money. I sold the fountain, of course, and used the money to build myself a proper bedroom with a nice double bed. I don't know how I ever did without it.

Thanks to smart milk, I was able to get them all fully trained by the time they were ready to grow into children. I never knew how much work it was caring for three at once, and I was all the more glad that I'd only ever had one child myself.

But in the end, their fifth birthday rolled around and they were all happy enough to grow up well. I was glad to never have to see another diaper again, and that they'd be able to put themselves to bed from now on. Here are birthday photos of my three sweethearts. Thankfully the girls have different hairstyles or even I wouldn't be able to tell them appart. The first photo is of Keira, the oldest, then comes Katelyn, the youngest, and the only boy is Keith, the middle child. Not that it matters much since they're only a few minutes appart.

They're incredibly cute when they're all sleeping, though they're quite a rambunctious bunch when they're awake. All of them are very active children. Katelyn is very shy though, and Keira has a bit of a mean streak.

Now that they're older, they can usually occupy themselves. They're constantly playing together, and have become good friends already. Here are Katelyn and Keith, I believe. She didn't much like her hair short, so she let it grow out. It looks quite good on her.

With the kids out of my hair, I finally got some time for myself. For the first time in years, I slept like a log with nobody to wake me up in the middle of the night, it was extremely relaxing. I could definitely get used to this. Hopefully things will stay this way even when the kids grow into their teens, though I doubt it. If they're anything like I was at that age, the house will be full of friends and dates until all hours of the night.

Another thing I finally had more time for is dating. I wasn't awfully attracted to Andrew and I knew he had a bad conscience about his wife and child at home, so I decided not to see him quite as often anymore. Instead I went out with that Gilbert fellow from Bluewater Village. Only this old hag interrupted us in the middle of our date. The nerve! Just because the frumpy old wench can't get a man she thinks that I can't have any fun anymore either! The date was a success anyway. I learned my lesson though. I'm meeting my men at my place from now on.

It's getting more and more risky to date in public anyway. I wouldn't want to get caught! So I invited my next date home with me while the kids were at school. I have a slight inkling that he was supposed to be in class himself since he's still in college, but then who am I to complain. I'm not his mother, after all.

I dated our mailman as well. Now that's a sweet guy if I ever saw one! I think I've even got a bit of a crush on him. But I'm not taking any of my relationships any further at this point. I've never considered getting married in the past, and I'm not changing my mind now. I'm just not the type to settle down with one man. He did bring me a nice jacuzi though. Unfortunately I don't really have a use for it at the moment, since dating outside is just too risky, so I sold it for the money. Let's just say that I'm not having any financial problems at the moment and I was even able to decorate the house a little bit.

All in all, me and the kids have fallen into a pleasant routine. They spend most of their free time playing together or studying...

And I spend most of my time in... erm... other ways.

I did manage to teach them all how to study over the weekend though, so I'm hoping they'll all get top grades as soon as school starts again. And maybe I'll have the headmaster over for dinner as well one of these days. I bet I can woo him into accepting the kids, and the house isn't looking quite as shabby anymore these days.

End of round accomplishments:
- Thanks to the aspiration points gained from dating Andrew, Siobhan has no problems raising the toddlers to childhood
- All three children grow up well with all their skills learned
- Siobhan continues on her quest to woo as many men as possible

Points this round:
- 4 for four sims: Siobhan, Kaitlyn, Keith and Keira

Week 1: Foster

Hello, Arcadia Foster here. I think I'll be doing the updates for now because my dad's constantly busy with studying. I guess mom was right when she said that he was more interested in books than people. I still don't think that was reason enough for her to run off with another guy though, but whatever. The two of us have to make the best of what we've got and move on with life. And boy did we ever! But let's start at the beginning...

Dad was studying when the welcome waggon arrived, so I was the one that went out and greeted them. I always like meeting new people! I eventually convinced him to come out too though, and I don't think he ended up regretting it. Actually, I know he didn't.

You see, one of the people in the waggon was Miranda Stuart, and those two got along really great. Miranda just moved in here with her father as well, so she could relate to our situation.

As I said, they ended up really hitting it off. I didn't know dad still had it in him. And to think I should be the one with the raging hormones! *shakes head*

Dad didn't really care what job he took, since he's more interested in studying anyway, so he hired with the military because they pay so well. Looks like the job suits him, since he got several promotions already. Though he says it's not always so pleasant. He earned a bit of cooking skill the hard way the other day.

Dad and Miranda really didn't waste any time. Dad popped the question and she moved in. I'm not sure how happy I am about that. She's nice enough, but I think half of dad's decision was because we got a letter from mom the other day saying that her and her new man are having a baby. Yeah. Sucks, doesn't it. I guess he wanted to show her that he could keep up with that.

And boy can he ever. You know what Miranda said when she moved in? She said she wants six children. SIX! And she wants to see them all married off as well. Wow, the woman's got some kind of ambition! But that's not the best part. You know what dad said to that? He said "Sure!". SURE?!? My dad, the nerd, with six brats runnung around the house? It's official. Both of my parents have completely lost their marbles. Hello! You already have a kid, remember? Me! What happened to me! Did I drop off the face of the earth or something? Not that anyone would have noticed if I had. *scoffs and walks off*

Oh yeah. And of course they got started right away. Miranda was preggers within days and they were both sickeningly thrilled about it. When she wasn't puking her heart out, that is.

Of course, they had to get married first, and they staged a big party to let everyone in on how happy they were together. Not that anyone could overlook that fact, but whatever. They did the whole shebang with wedding arch and everything. None of us knew too many people, so me and Miranda's father were the only ones in attendance. Oh, and this guy I happened to bring home from school that day. Here are the photos from the party. Sickeningly sweet, aren't they.

They staged the wedding just in time, because right after the honeymoon Miranda started showing.

But enough about them, let's talk about me! I got quite busy in the romance department as well. No babies from me, though. Nuh-uh! I did have a date with Randy London though, and we shared my first kiss!

I don't think I'm ready to go steady quite yet though. I'd like to date around a bit first. Not to mention I'm still doubting my lifetime aspiration. I think I'll wait until college before I get serious. (She's rerolling. I'm not doing 5 top level businesses if I can help it.)

I also had a date with this really cute goth looking kid. I figure the more boys I date the more likely I am to find 'the one', right?

I'm also getting top grades at school. Next week, I'm planning on getting a job as well, so that I can save up some money for college. I've got to get out of this house before it starts swarming with screaming little diaper-fillers.

Talking of... my little sister Allegra was born over the weekend, and she looks exactly like her mother. Except for the eyes. She has me and dad's eyes.

Living with Allegra in the house was tough. We didn't have room for a proper nursery, so she had to sleep in the kitchen, where she kept crying and annoying the heck out of everybody, especially me. Everyone was a bit crabby, and I even had a huge fight with Miranda about helping out in the house. She thought that I was old enough to do some of the chores, and I said I wasn't about to take over all the work just because she was busy popping out one baby after the other.

Yeah, she's pregnant again already and constantly either puking or sleeping. If this is what it's like to have babies, I'm going to stay single, thank you very much. Or I'll adopt or something.

I felt bad about the fight though. I guess I could take a bit of time off from dating and do some cleaning or something. I seriously hate tidying up though. I wish we had the money to hire a maid, but with only one income... and I'd rather spend my time studying for scholarships, since I'm off to university soon. I did bake her some cheesecake to make up for the fight though, since she was craving it so much and I'm the only one with enough cooking skill. I think she appreciated it.

End of round accomplishments:

- Miranda Stuart marries Darren and moves in
- Arcadia starts dating
- Baby Allegra is born
- Two more babies are on the way
- Darren is busy studying and working his way up in the military
- Arcadia is feeling neglected and looking forward to college

Points this round:
- 4 for four sims, Darren, Arcadia, Miranda and Allegra

Week 1: Mitchell

(Author's note: This was the hardest time I ever had killing off placeholders. Since the two remaining sims are both family, it broke their hearts and nearly broke mine.)

Hello all, Andrew Mitchell speaking. As you might have heard, me and my granddaughter just had to endure the death of my beloved son and his wife. We had a hard time coping after that, but the two of us have always been very close, and it's only strengthened our bond in the end. Together, we've managed to pick ourselves back up and continue with our lives and make a new start. But let's start at the beginning, shal we?

This was our welcome waggon at the new house. Henry Foster showed up as well as some townies. I was glad that there was someone Sarah's age too. They didn't stay too long though, since I had to go to work and Sarah wanted to go out and meet some more of our neighbours.

It seems she did more than just that. A few days later I caught her kissing George McCarthy on the lawn. He's a nice boy, but I'd hoped for someone more family oriented like herself. Ah well, maybe she'll end up changing her mind. After all, teenage romances don't always last. They make a cute couple, though, and she's having fun.

I made sure she didn't neglect her schoolwork though. Even if she doesn't care too much about her career, she plans on having a big family one day and those kids will need feeding!

Seemingly, her parents weren't too happy about us moving on with our lives. Sarah's mother was especially vengeful, while her father spent most of the night reenacting his own death. At least he didn't bother anyone.

After a stressful night, I decided to go out on my day off and see whether I could meet some nice people. I've been looking for a nice lady ever since my wife died a few years ago, but haven't had any luck so far.

You know, maybe that's because you go around chatting them up the wrong way. Not everyone likes it when creepy old men start talking to them about woohoo out of the blue.

Maybe. I didn't meet anyone special on that outing, in any case. I did make some money working as a barrista though, so it was worth it. Until night fell and this pale guy started staring at my neck all the time. It was creepy. I decided it was time to go home. After all, I had to go to work the next day.

I did have some luck in the romance department eventually. This is Julie. I met her at the local hospital when I went to get myself checked out. After all, we still have no idea what my son and daughter in law died of, and I wanted to make sure I was healthy and could care for Sarah at least until she's fully grown. As you see, she didn't think I was being too brash in my advances.

Soon enough, I'd convinced her to move in with us. I knew that Sarah would move out on her own eventually, and I didn't want to feel lonely. Besides, I don't have that much time left and this makes it a whole lot easier to take our relationship to the next level.

Julie Stratton: Knowledge, with a LTW to be a Mad Scientist
Pisces: 5 neat, 3 shy, 7 active, 3 serious, 7 nice
(after a bit of meddling with her turn-ons, these two have 3 bolts!)

Thankfully, her and Sarah are getting along just fine, though I think my granddaughter is apprehensive about me getting involved with a woman so much younger than myself. We seriously have to work on her table manners though. And on her cooking skills. Not that I can talk.

Having an adult income in the house has really helped our financial situation. Julie reached the top of her career as a Chief of Staff and she makes a nice amount of money.

Enough that we could afford to have the headmaster over to get Sarah accepted into his school. My son gave us a bit of trouble that night. He doesn't seem to be too thrilled that I'm replacing his mother. Thankfully he only scared Julie and not the headmaster himself, and Sarah was accepted. Julie actually thought that it was an exciting experience.

The new school really paid off. Sarah was a lot happier when she came home, and soon enough her grades had improved to an A+. That and the fact that she reached the top of her career in the culinary field made her an overachiever. I'm so proud of her!

By that time, me and Julie had realized that we were truely in love.

And soon enough we found out that we were more than just that. I was able to convince Julie to start a family with me, though she doesn't want a whole lot of children. A son would be nice, so that I'd have someone to carry on the family name.

Sarah wasn't too thrilled about the prospect of getting an aunt or uncle, but her and Julie had a talk, and I think she ended up convincing my granddaughter that she really did love me and the baby would make us both happy.

There was something left to do before the baby arrived, though. I asked Julie to be my wife, and we were married right there in our living room. Neither of us wanted to waste time on a huge ceremony. Not to mention that since I was new to the neighbourhood I wouldn't have known too many people to invite anyway.

Well, I didn't end up getting my son, but we had a beautiful little daughter that we named Jenny. She's adorable, and looks a whole lot like her proud daddy, though I think her skin tone might be slightly darker. I hope she'll get a little brother soon, but I still have to convince Julie of that first.

End of round accomplishments:
- Both Andrew and Sarah ended up finding love
- Julie Stratton moved in and eventually ended up becoming Julie Mitchell
- Sarah was an overachiever
- Julie reached the top of her career as Chief of Staff
- Jenny Mitchell was born

Points this round:
- 4 for four sims: Andrew, Sarah, Julie and Jenny
- 1 for Julies TOC as Chief of Staff
